Black Stars coach C.K Akonnor has not been paid a dime since his appointment in January.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo, has revealed that the coach and his staff haven’t been paid since their appointment.
Akonnor was appoinnted in January to replace Kwesi Appiah with a salary of $25,000.
Since then, he and his assistant have not received a dime for doing their job.
“I’m sure the Sports Ministry will pay them when there is money but we are always in constant communication with them [Akonnor and Duncan] so they know what the situation is,” Harrison Addo said on Asempa FM, Wednesday.
It’s no surprise that government is treating a local coach so poorly, something they would never dare do to a foreign coach.
Yet people wonder when the players have no respect for a local coach yet respect foreign coaches.
C.K Akonnor’s reign is already doomed to failure if government refuses to pay him and he’s also kept mute all this while with nothing to say.
