Nana Addo in a statement said that he would make sure the former president has a befitting burial which we are guessing would be a state burial.
The family on the other hand is asking that his body be brought back to his hometown in Keta for the burial and there have been rumors that, JJ said when he was alive that he did not want to be buried beside Atta Mills when he passes on.

Well, here is the latest—from social media and an interview he had in 2016, he said he wants to be cremated when he dies and his ashes spread all over Achimota forest.
“Since I love the Achimota Forest, I am looking forward to being cremated and my ashes brought to the forest and used to plant a few trees.”
We cannot tell how true that is but in his interview with Kwaku Sakyi Addo in 2016, he said his time in Achimota School was the best, and although he was not a loner and had friends, he loved his solitude and got that at Achimota Forest.
“…yes, Tony Gbeho, yeah, we were almost always together. And there is something about Achimota that I liked. That is how come met Ghanaba [Guy Warren], he loved the forest, I love the forest…We go over the RB, keeping my distance…(pauses). I was not a lonely guy but I liked to enjoy my solitude and my aloneness.”
May his soul find rest…
