I Didn’t Attack The Entertainment Industry – Shirley Ayorkor Botchway Defends Herself

Some gate keepers in the creative Arts sector mounted pressure on Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and she has released a defensive statement explaining the swipe she took at John Dumelo.

The Minister said Parliament is for serious minded people and not for people who have acted in some movies and think they are popular.

She added that if Dumelo is voted as Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West, constituents will be stuck watching movies and not do anything productive.

“If our President can continue his job very well, he needs Lydia Alhassan in Parliament to do the job so that all you need as a constituency will be easily given to you,” Hon. Shirley Ayorkor-Botchway concluded.

After Ghanaians heaped hot coal on her for making a laughing stock out of entertainment industry, she has released a statement explaining that her comment was not a swipe at the entertainment industry.
