Selly Galley has thrown her support behind John Dumelo ahead of the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary elections on December 7th.
According to her, John is going to win and prove that actors are also serious people.
Her comments are a direct reaction to disparaging comments made by the NPP’s Shirley Ayorkor Botchway who said that Dumelo must not be voted for because Parliament is for serious people and not entertainers.
That comment angered some creative arts stakeholders and led to Shirley being heavily criticized.
It’s due to that disrespect that people were really angered when some actors came to campaign against Dumelo in Ayawaso West.
Since then, many actors are coming out to vocally support John with Selly Galley being the latest.
She wrote on IG: “I am completely non partisan but John! I pray you win this seat and prove to the Minister of foreign affairs, Madam Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and alike thinkers that indeed, creative arts is an industry pregnant with ‘serious’ minds of great thoughts and doers of great deeds… Your victory shall serve as a clarion call to all echelons of powers, low or/and high that indeed creative arts and its players have truly arrived and ready to step into the big shoes of power rather than been the perennial faces of endorsement…#Idey4u @johndumelo1 #WeAreSeriousMindedPeople #JohnDumelo4AyawasoWestWuogon Now this is the real elections!”
