As Ghana Peacefully Votes, Buhari Deploys Armed Police to Stop Protestors

As Ghanaians peacefully holds its 2020 elections, things are not so rosy in our Eastern neighbours Nigeria.

Citizens are crying on social media about the authorities deploying police to strategic locations to stop ENDSARS protestors.

According to reports, police have been deployed today, Monday December 7th, to the Lekki toll gate plaza to deter planned protests from taking place.

There were reports that a huge ‘EndSars’ protest was being planned for the iconic location, thus the police preemptively went there to stop it from happening.

Taking to social media, one user posted photos of armed police at the plaza.

A social media user posted: “Imagine police officers and Army are already at the Lekki toll gate this morning waiting for Nigerian youths to come out : I will drop a video soon , Federal Govt Na bastard #EndSARS,”

She added in another tweet: “See them oooo , they are still at Lekki toll gate , shey dem won shoot nii???? Stupid people, they just packed here at Abraham Adensunya Ajah #EndSARS #EndBadGoveranceInNigeria,”

This comes as another wave of protests has hit the country.

President Buhari has warned that they would not tolerate any protests which leads to violence.

“Any act of hooliganism hiding behind lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively to ensure peace and stability in the country.” the Presidency said in a statement.
