Mrs Ophelia Mensah Hayford, the wife of late Mr. Ekow Kwansah Hayford, the MP who was shot dead has won the parliamentary seat in the constituency.

Mr. Ekow Kwansah was shot and killed by some armed men while on campaign duties in his constituency. He was buried in November 2020.
His wife succeeded him as the as the Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency and after the voting yesterday, she has won the second term as MP.

She won with a vote of 36,021 as against her competitor Mr. James Odziifo Essoun who had 32,438 votes.
