Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has retained her seat.
Lydia beat off a strong challenge from NDC parliamentary candidate, Ghanaian actor, entrepreneur, farmer and politician, John Setor Dumelo.

The election was very close considering Ayawaso West Wuogon is an NPP stronghold.
Both candidates declared victory but the final results show Lydia narrowly retained her seat.

She finished with 39,851 of the total votes while Dumelo managed 37,778 votes, a difference of just 2,073.
