TV3 ‘Date Rush’ Is Doomed After they Sacked Nii Kpakpo Thompson for the ‘Massively Unfunny’ Giovani Caleb – Nii Smiley Byte Writes

Success is a hard thing to find in this world. It’s only a fool who finds success and then throws it away like trash.

TV3 Date Rush

Ghanaian broadcasting company TV3 have made probably the biggest blunder of all time after they sacked the host of their most popular reality show, ‘Date Rush’, Nii Kpakpo Thompson, to install the favourite of the bosses Giovani Caleb as the new host.

‘Date Rush’ became arguably the most popular show of 2020 when it aired on TV3 last year. Fans tuned in every Sunday night to follow the action as young men and women searched for love on live TV.

The program itself is a copy of a format found elsewhere in the world, but its execution was poor. The chosen candidates were not interesting enough to keep the public hooked.

There was only one saving grace on the show and that was the host Nii Kpakpo Thompson.

He singlehandedly saved the show with his flamboyant hosting style. Nii Kpakpo kept fans hooked as he kept the show on track with his quick wit and amazing ability to connect with the contestants.

He was a huge reason for the show’s success and he has been repaid by being sacked!

The new host is apparently Giovani Caleb, one of the unfunniest men to come out of Ghana in ages!

Giovani is what you called a forced comic – always trying too hard to be funny and ending up being unfunny.

If what I’ve seen of him is so far is what he brings to ‘Date Rush’, the show is doomed and TV3 has made a massive mistake!
