European Union Announces 2.4m COVID Vaccine Doses Rollout – In GHANA!

The coronavirus vaccine is on it’s way to Ghana – the European Union (EU) has announced.

The COVAX vaccine rollout is underway, and Ghana is apparently going to receive 2.4million doses.

The COVAX Initiative is a plan from the World Health Organization and numerous other international health groups to ensure the rapid and equitable distribution of any eventual vaccine to rich and poor countries alike and the vaccination of high-risk groups.

The initiative is rolling out 330m doses worldwide – and Ghana is getting 2.4m doses.

The European Union’s Ghana Delegation posted the news on Twitter.

“COVAX vaccine rollout is starting! #Ghana will receive 2.4M doses. #TeamEurope is one of the biggest donors to COVAX. Together we can defeat the pandemic. #StrongerTogether” they tweeted.

The question now remains over how our health authorities would receive it and how priorities for vaccination would be detrmined.
