‘A Decorated Goat Is Still A Goat’ – Why Wanlov da Kubolor Landed Huge Blows on Adwoa Safo

Wanlov da Kubolor has landed heavy blows on Minister-designate for the Gender, Children and Social Protection Ministry, Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament Adwoa Safo.

His anger stems from a comment Safo passed during her appearance before the vetting committee of Parliament.

Asked about witch camps and what the government would do about them, she claimed that they would improve conditions at those camps so people would not feel stigmatized to stay there.

Essentially, the MP was pledging to ‘rebrand’ these camps.

That has angered Wanlov da Kubolor to come after Adwoa Safo hard on social media.

According to him, decorating the witch camps changes nothing because they’re still witch camps.

“A dressed goat is still aponkyi (goat)”, he fired. “Instead of affecting their societies so women do not end up there…who is this person koraa?”

It’s only a Ghanaian politician who would think rebranding witch camps is a good idea!

How about doing your job so there is no need for witch camps in the first place? The conditions that force women there are inhuman and barbaric and have no place in a 21st century civilized society!
