The Supreme Court of Ghana has today kicked out the election petition filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by Mr. John Dramani Mahama.
The former President challenged the results of the 2020 Presidential election announced by the Electoral Commission of Ghana(EC) and sent his petition to the court.
Today was the judgement day for the election petition after weeks of court proceedings. After reading a lengthy ruling, the court came to a final judgement.
The petition was rejected on the bases that the petitioner (NDC) couldn’t provide any valid evidence to back his claim that the election was rigged by the 1st respondent(EC) in favor of the 2nd respondent(NPP).
This means Nana Akufo Addo has been upheld as the president of Ghana which means the EC gave a valid results after the December 7, 2020 election.
