British broadcaster ITV has let go of highly popular and controversial presenter Piers Morgan.
Morgan was let go today after the British media regulator Ofcom received over 41,000 complaints over his treatment of Meghan Markle.
“Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.” An ITV spokesperson said.
Morgan’s firing came after he said he doesn’t believe a word of Meghan Markle’s claims in an interview with Oprah in which she said she felt suicidal.
He also got schooled on air by a British professor and later stormed off the set after being criticized by a fellow presenter.
Morgan has hosted ITV’s ‘Good Morning Britain’ since 2015.
