Hip Hop mogul, Kanye West has now been ranked as the richest Black man in American history after his net worth skyrocketed to over $6.6 billion.
The 43-year-old rapper’s new worth came as a result in major increase in sales on his Yeezy brand. Yeezy sneakers and clothing line— now bolstered by Adidas AG and Gap Inc. — is valued between $3.2 billion and $4.7 billion by UBS Group AG, according to Bloomberg.

Ye owns 100% of the brand and has partnered with GAP on a deal worth $1 billion. He has also accrued $122 million in cash and stock. He’s raked in an additional $110 million from his extensive catalog of music and has another $1.7 billion in other assets.
These achievements have made the rapper the first black entertainer to reach a billionaire status, a report published on Wednesday March 17, 2021 says.
