It was horrible and was not a matter of whether I was in love with my husband or not— these are some of the words of actress Patience Ozokwor speaking exclusively about her marriage.
According to the veteran actress, she was forced into marriage just to please her parents, her father especially because in the eyes of all, she was the apple.
Patience says when other ladies her age got married then, her mother’s only wish was for her to get married too so when the opportunity presented itself, she grabbed it.
She says when she entered into the marriage, she realized it was horrible but the marriage was not founded on love.

She adds that, she it was faith and commitment and the fact that people from the parts of the world she grew up did not encourage divorce.
She further disclosed that she stayed because of her children.
At that point, there was the most important thing to her and not the love she possibly felt for her husband.
She emphasized that her time was in a different time though and things were varied, not as they are now.
