To start with, I thought gospel musician Sonnie Badu said “Lions Don’t respond to Frogs”? So why is he granting interviews explaining himself to ‘the frogs’.

The award winning gospel musician and preacher has granted an interview explaining once and for all how he managed to bag four honorary doctorates in a matter of months.

He was ‘busted’ by a twitter user for allegedly lying about his certificates. it was established that the institution which awarded the musician was not accredited in the States.

Sonnie Badu told KML in an interview on Joy Prime that he wrote a thesis and passed with flying colors before he was awarded his honorary doctorate.

“(To acquire) an honorary doctorate, you have to prove that you are worth it. They don’t just give it to you if the university is credible. I don’t know how it’s done in Africa.”” he told KMJ on Joy Prime.

Sonnie continued that he had to do a bachelors and masters to gain the honorary doctorate after he received an honorary doctorate for his Christian ministry but did not mention how long it took to complete the bachelors and masters.

“I needed to do something pertaining to ministry (to acquire the degree) so I started working on my bachelors in Ministry and masters in Christian Leadership. Now, there’s something called ‘field of expert’. I have done Ministry for 28 years.”

“I remember when I was dealing with my professor in London, every little experience that I went through, he said, is part of ministry,” he said.
