The lawyer defending Akuapem Poloo in her case against child rights activists has said he will appeal against the 90-days jail sentence the court ruled.

According to Mr. Andrew Vortia, he believes the actress deserved a lenient sentence and not a jail term since she is a first offender.

Mr. Andrew Vortia told journalists that he feels the judge Mrs. Christiana Cann had premeditated her judgement and had written it down waiting for them in court to read it out and she did not consider his plea.

He also indicated that he had already written a request for the full judgement.

“For me, I want to go for an appeal. “If I have it by the close of the day, by 9 am on Monday [April 19] I will file an appeal,” he told the press after the court hearing.
