Police Officer Who Killed George Floyd Convicted of 2nd Degree Murder

Derek Chauvin, the American police officer who killed George Floyd brutally last year by kneeling on his neck for over 9 minutes, has been found guilty.

The jury in the case delivered their verdict tonight – finding him guilty on all 3 counts.

He was charged with 2nd-degree murder, 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter.

He has been remanded into custody and would be sentenced within 8 weeks after a sentencing hearing.
