Ghanaian women’s development advocate Fusena Aziz, who serves as Executive Director of the non-profit Fusaid Global, has bagged two nominations at the upcoming Humanitarian Awards Global 2021.
Fusena Aziz has been nominated in two categories of the esteemed award scheme – Humanitarian of the Year and SDG 5 Advocate of the Year.
The award nominations culminate a stellar few years of work by Fusena Aziz and Fusaid-Global, a non-profit organization focused on Women’s Development Issues that advocates majorly against gender-based violence. Ms Aziz, a trained broadcast journalist from the Ghana Institute of Journalism, has been a staunch and unflinching advocate of women’s development and has persevered to establish her organization in the face of near insurmountable challenges.
Despite the relatively short period of its existence, Fusaid-Global under the effective leadership of Fusena Aziz has carved a recognizable niche for its work advocating for women. The organization’s annual Fusaid Women’s Conference against Domestic Violence has become an established conference for stimulating the necessary conversations around domestic abuse which quite often precedes much-needed policy change.
Fusena has led Fusaid Global into partnership with the Concerned Africans Youth Forum’s second (2nd) edition of the Model ECOWAS Summit, during which she represented Ghana as the Head of State. She has represented the organization on various platforms, advocating against gender-based violence and encouraging effective communications in this regard. She was recently profiled by the African Seasoned Speakers Network as a change-maker contributing towards the growth and development of women and children.
Ms Aziz’s staunch work spearheading Fusaid has received the recognition it deserves with the nomination for two awards at this year’s Humanitarian Awards Global.
The Humanitarian Awards Global exists to identify, honour and celebrate a cross-section of the nations most influential Non-Profit Organizations from a wide range of industries, who are committed to growth and community service.
