GES Orders Wesley Girls Headmistress To Allow Muslim Students to Observe Ramadan

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has ordered the headmistress and school authorities of Wesley Girl Senior High to allow Muslim students to observe Ramadan.

An angry parent made headlines few weeks ago after he stormed Wesley Girl Senior High and threatened to withdraw his daughter because authorities prevented Muslim students to fast during Ramadan.

A statement released by the GES has described the school’s decision to prevent Muslims from practicing their general belief as disturbing.

A statements released by the Education Service directed all schools including Wesley Girls to allow Muslim students fast but parents will be held accountable for any health complications.
