Ghana Police Service have turned down the request from some Ghanaian youth to organize a peaceful protest in the country on Sunday May 9.
Some Ghanaian youth demanding good governance from the government made plans to move their protest from social media to the streets with a #FixTheCountry Demo on May 9th.
A petition letter was sent to the Ghana Police Service requesting permission to organize a peaceful march through the major towns in the country.

In a reply to the letter above on Joy News, the communications director of the Ghana Police Service has stated that it’s impossible for a protest to be organized due to COVID restrictions.
She opined that it will be difficult for the youth to adhere to COVID-19 protocols and keep their protest in a social distancing manner hence the request will be denied.
