Dancehall artiste, Epixode decided to blow his own trumpet by crowning himself the king of dancehall in Ghana but social media are not having any of that.
They have put him at the exact place he ought to be. Epixode Tweeted that he is the King of Dancehall as he thanked Ghanaians for voting for him to take home that slot in the 2021 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Twitter trolls came for him for daring to call himself the king of dancehall, asking him to thank Charter House, the organizers of VGMA because no one voted for him.
Epixode won Dancehall Artiste of the year so he felt he deserves the title already but folks won’t allow him to enjoy his moment in peace, saying he only took home the award because Wale and Stonebwoy were not part of the nominations to start with.
Last year, Ras Kuuku won the slot and people felt the same. Ever since Wale and Stonebwoy pulled that stunt in 2019 on stage during that year’s VGMA, the slot has been going to other dancehall artists whose song we cannot even remember.
For some reasons, the king of dancehall title has always been a controversial one. Wale and Stonebwoy have been on each other’s neck for this title for years and right up until now, they all think they are the kings of the genre.
Well, Epixode is not entirely wrong in branding himself the king, after all, he was the one who took home the award so he was right to have said it.
