The Multimedia group has lodged a formal complaint to the Ghana Police against Assin Central MP Hon Kennedy Agyapong.
A letter was sent to the police after allegations of Kennedy Agyapong threatening their staff.
According to the media group, Hon Kennedy Agyapong was heard raining insult on Erastus Asare and threatening that he (Erasmus) needs to be taught a lesson during a program on Net 2 TV.
Multimedia is seeking protection for their staff in order to prevent any autrocities and also investigate the member of parliament.
The letter was also copied to both local and international Journalism associations.
Social media users reacted to the letter saying it is about time the member of Parliament for Assin Central be held accountable for his words.
Below are some reactions from twitter.
“This MP must be investigated should anything happen to Erastus” @mohaqui6 tweeted.
@africafirst questioned what the media group seek to achieve with the complaint. “Sir pls by complaining to the CID, what do you want to achieve?
To the extent that he said he know the one who killed Ahmed Suale yet no one is able to touch him.
What do you mean by investigate?
You couldn’t let him be arrested for those threats and allegations? 🤦 @Joy997FM”
@Q_e_w also replied @africafirst saying “They are doing that so he can’t afford to harm the journalist or command others to do so as eyes are on him (check the copied parties). Also, I imagine losing Ahmed has made them more cautious about protecting their own.”
