Medikal’s Accra music video was released barely three days ago and has amassed over one hundred and thirty thousand views on Youtube.
The Accra music video is everything you would expect for a song of its genre and an artist like Medikal. Accra is an ode to the intricacies of navigating life daily in the Capital. Everyone knows you need a plan to stay in Accra, and the Accra video throws some light on the realness of the hustle in the city.
Kobby Gravity’s reaction to the Accra music video is probably everyone else’s. The video begins in a typical rural setting with one of Kumawood’s favorite actors Kojo Nkansah Liwin and Akabenezer aka Dr. Likee doing what they do best. Dr. Likee as a trotro mate pulls a fast one on a “too knowing” passenger and we are officially welcomed to Accra aka “I Cryyyy”.
The song starts and we’re subjected to Medikal’s face stuffed with grills and we can’t help but feel uncomfortable on his behalf. As a dance tune, the dancing immediately starts with a bunch of shirtless men doing some sort of choreography.
Accra is a place where a supposed cripple will pick up their mat at the end of the day and walk miraculously back home, and so the “blind” woman in the video who is clearly a scammer is not an uncommon scene in the city.
Medikal’s wife Fella Makafui also makes an appearance in the video as a slay queen who doesn’t have a mirror and has to stop an okada just to use the side mirror to finish her makeup.
