Hm, some stories are indeed only as strange to the eyes that haven’t seen that before. Seun Kuti had some interesting things to say about his mother. 

Fela Kuti is no stranger to the use of marijuana and he was publicly known for that. His youngest son who is also 420 friendly revealed how his mum also has been about that life.

At the discussion, he revealed that his mum was smoking till she gave birth to him and smoking after she gave birth to him. He spoke about having pictorial evidence of his mum carrying him as a baby with cigarettes and weed in her mouth. 

Seun who started smoking at 21 said that it was hard for people to believe he started to smoke that late in life. Yes, that was late for him considering expectations due to what he was surrounded by. 

He spoke about how his mum will smoke with him when he started to smoke and when her mum (his grandmother) came around, his mum will hide with him in his room to smoke because her mum did not know.

He mentioned humorously that he will tell her to go face her mum because his mother knows he smokes. He further described his grandmother as old school and so his mother could not reveal to her that she smokes. 

This might sound like a wild concept to others but it is the very common reality of the Kuti’s. We cannot tell if his children will also follow suit but since he did not say it in disgust who knows? It might be family tradition at this point.
