Shatta Wale Is Still Rotting In Our Cells – Ghana Police Debunks Bail Rumours

The Ghana Police Service has swiftly refuted the widespread speculations that have gone rife on the internet that Shatta Wale has been granted court bail.

According to DSP Alexander Obeng who is the security agency’s  Acting Public Affairs Director, Shatta Wale is still in with the police and hasn’t been granted a court bail yet.

Speaking with Joy News some few minutes ago, DSP Alexander Obeng added that the music maestro together with Nana Dope and Gangagee will be assisting them in investigations.

He said; “The investigators are ensuring that the right procedures are followed so that nobody’s right is violated,”

DSP Alexander Obeng also dispelled rumours that Shatta Wale is being treated like a criminal while in the police cells adding that he’s been fed and well taken care of.

Shatta Wale was arrested yesterday for fabricating a sensitive story that he had been shot by unknown gunmen at East Legon last Monday.

Before his arrest, Nana Dope and Gangagee were the first persons to be apprehended in connection with the issue because they were the first people to broadcast the fake story on the internet.

The police confirmed his arrest on its social media pages with the statement below ;

Police Have Arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah Popularly Known as Shatta Wale

The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale.
After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October, 2021, at 8.59pm.

He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic.

As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.
