Unlimited Favour – Shatta Wale Honoured by Queen Elizabeth Alongside Otumfuor and Akufo-Addo Mere Hours After Release On Bail

Few hours after Shatta Wale was granted bail, he is already swimming in brand endorsements and high profile appointments.

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, widely famed as Shatta Wale has been selected among Ghanaian public figures to bear the Queen of England’s Baton.

The Queen’s Baton Relay is a relay around the world held prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games. The Baton carries a message from the Head of the Commonwealth, currently Queen Elizabeth II.

The Relay traditionally begins at Buckingham Palace in London as a part of the city’s Commonwealth Day festivities.

President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo was the first to bear the Queen’s Relay Baton after it arrived in the country on Monday, October 25, 2020.

Ben Nunoo Mensah, the President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), revealed that the baton which touched down in Ghana yesterday will be paraded on the principal streets of Accra, Tema and Kumasi.

He added that a list of dignitaries and public figures have been selected to bear the baton when it’s been paraded, one of such dignitaries is Shatta Wale.

Ben Nunoo Mensah also noted that, aside from President Akufo-Addo, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will also bear the Queen’s Baton.

Not only Shatta Wale, the president and the Asantehene will bear the baton but the Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif, 2020 Olympic bronze medallist Samuel Takyi and all other participants in the 2022 Commonwealth Games will also have a feel of it.

Celebrities, including Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata and some foreign Diplomats have also been lined up as bearers of the baton before it leaves the country on 28th October to Cameroon.

The baton relay is an important part of the Commonwealth Games and will pass through 72 nations ahead of the Games in 2022.
