Mona Gucci has gotten herself into trouble after a judge ordered her to pay Ghc 500,000 after losing a defamation case to Yvonne Nelson.
Actress Yvonne Nelson had sued the acerbic television personality for defamation.
Mona had made a statement about slay queens in the entertainment industry and mentioned Yvonne Nelson’s name as one of these slay queens.
It was one of her most famous tirades and actually brought her to fame.
Mona said at the time: “Yvonne doesn’t show off, but she is a slay because you know the slay queen it entails a lot, we have both showing off and some contacts and people who we know that the things that you do and the lifestyle you exhibit, someone is paying for you behind the scenes,”
She also named numerous other celebrities as part of the slay queen gang
Yvonne decided to take Mona on and sued her for defamation.
However, despite her loudmouth nature, Mona Gucci made no appearance in court throughout the trial.
Trial judge Justice John Eugene Nyante Nyandu awarded damages to Yvonne due to Mona’s no-show.
He ordered her to pay the actress Ghc 500,000 as well as to apologise for her comments.
Social media users are wondering how Mona can survive this blow.
