A photo of two underaged persons getting married has called elicited mixed reactions on social media.
A boy, identified as Julius and a girl named Anthonia allegedly got married to each other on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021 at the full glare of a mammoth crowd.
Reports circulating on social media claims the wedding went on in a community called Jaba, Kaduna State in Nigeria.
A Facebook user who claims to live in Kaduna took to his page to share photos from the wedding ceremony and details of how it went down.
Photos which were circulating included their wedding shots where they wore matching outfits alongside photos of the calendar shared as souvenir.
It can be said that both parents of the kids were present at the event and gave their full consent for the awkward ceremony to go on.
Rumor has it that the kids are not even 11 years old yet.
It is unclear what will push parents to make their underaged children marry and start living life together.
People have expressed outrage after photos of the underage ”couple” surfaced online.
Many are calling for the arrest of the parents of the children.
