For a rare moment, Ghana’s two dancehall gods are aligned as Stonebwoy has thrown his weight behind Shatta Wale.
Stonebwoy has thrown his full support behind Shatta Wale’s nonsensical attacks on Nigerian artistes in a statement released on Twitter.
Despite having more links with Nigerian artistes and hence closer relationships with them, Stonebwoy has decided to stand with Shatta Wale.
He’s making a huge mistake!
As can be recalled, Wale dropped a vulgar, unprovoked and bigoted attack on Nigerian acts recently.
Performing at his Freedom Wave concert on Christmas day, Shatta fired at his so-called doubters who he claims told him he cannot sell out a stadium without Nigerian stars.
He went on to say ‘f*ck Nigerian artistes’, sparking a whole firestorm.
The fallout from that has yet to die down and Stonebwoy has carelessly decided to throw his weight behind Wale.
In his statement, Stonebwoy said whilst Wale’s approach was wrong, the issues he raised about Ghanaian artistes not getting Nigerian support is valid.
“My brother Shatta Wale’s approach may be wrong but the topic of our brother nation Nigeria not reciprocating the love and support it receives particularly from Ghana is valid and deserves critical attention,” Stonebwoy said.
Wale’s statement is not valid and even if it was, you cannot support him without condemning his ugly attack on Nigerians.
This is a big own goal from Stonebwoy, especially considering how tight he is with Davido and some of the top Nigerian acts.
