Veteran journalist and recently appointed Board Chair of Ghana Airports Company has wasted a whopping sum of 84,000 Ghana Cedis on Christmas lights.
This claim has widely circulated together with an invoice addressed to Paul Adom-Otchere.
On the invoice, a company named Favors and Arts made the sale and failed to hold up their end of the confidentiality privileges owed to Paul Adom-Otchere and the Ghana Airports Company.
When the news broke, Ghanaians expressed utter shock at the possibility of the veteran journo approving a purchase that ridiculous.
However, it was not shocking because Paul Adom-Otchere’s work as a journalist criticizes similar stupid actions.
In an interview with Metro Television where the veteran journo hosts his Good Evening Ghana television show, the Board Chair of the Ghana Airports Company dismissed the reports.
Furthermore, he confirmed the purchase amounted to 34,000 Ghana Cedis and not the 84,000 circulating in the news.
Below is an excerpt of the interview.
On Twitter Ghana, Ghanaians were quick to share their thoughts on the development.
In a related issue, a colleague journalist, Manasseh Awuni Azure has since mocked Paul, demanding a touchscreen analysis on the wastage of public funds.
However, Paul Adom-Otchere’s demeanour seems to communicate his ‘unbothered’ attitude over fingers pointing at him for wasting taxpayers’ money on Christmas decorations.
