The Super Eagle’s camp experienced a short drama between some of its players at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations 2022 in Cameroon.
Two players from the Nigerian national team were seen engaging in a heated misunderstanding that lead to a physical altercation.
They held each other by their shirts in the video which surfaced on social media on Monday.
It remains unclear why Nigerian Striker, Iheanacho was getting physical with a team mate but it appeared he didn’t like an action or commentary passed by his teammate and nearly exchanged blows with him while goalkeeper Francis Uzor recorded the scene.
Before the video ended, midfielder Wifred Ndidi and other players were seen laughing their heart out at what their teammates were doing.
The video has generated reactions among Nigerians on social media. Many held the opinion that the drama was not the attention they need.
The Super Eagles have however debunked allegations that a fight broke out in their camp, few minutes after the video went viral.
Taking to their official Instagram handle, the team said no misunderstanding happened but the players were only having fun.
“There was no fight anywhere, guys were having fun,” the team posted.
