Some social media users have called out Shatta Wale for not commenting on the violence that happened in Nima on Tuesday.
Shatta Wale, who has tagged himself as a resident of Nima, has been questioned on why he has kept mute and not reacted to the gun fight his people were involved in.
No post has been made by Shatta on any of his social platforms to condemn or react to the viral news.
The popular dancehall musician could have used his influence to call for peace and speak against violence but he is on social media trolling Ghana Blackstars for not qualifying to the group stages of the ongoing AFCON.
Yesterday, a disturbing video surfaced on social media capturing a gruesome gun and knife fight which reportedly happened between two rival gangs in Nima.
Scanty information from eyewitnesses and social media commentators suggested that a misunderstanding broke between a group and lead to the firing of arms and throw of cutlass in broad daylight.
It was gathered from an eye witness that at least four people lost their lives with many sustaining different degrees of injury as a result of the violence.
An eyewitness told TV3 reporters in an interview that “I ran away after hearing the gunshots from the people”.
The Police arrived at the scene to intervene when matters escalated and residents were running for their lives, a TV3 report showed.
A social media report was later shared on the official social media pages of the Ghana Police giving details on how they saved the situation.
They also promised to arrest suspects and process them for prosecution.
“Police Contained Nima Violence The Police strongly intervene in the Nima violence and brought the situation under control. Meanwhile, the suspected criminals are being pursued to face justice. Full details will be provided at an opportune time.”
