Sark Collection Plus Other Top Celebrity Businesses Which Failed Woefully

Most personalities after attaining a certain level of fame try their best to leverage the attention on a business idea in order to create another stream of income.

The above phenomenon has been in entertainment across the globe since the days of old. Sadly, not all businesses started by celebrities survive the harsh business world.

Most of these businesses owned by celebrities die off before it makes their first million for the owner. Sometimes the business does not even grow past the launching stage.

Today we want to take a look at some Ghanaian celebrities whose businesses woefully died off before they even became popular.

1. Sark Collection by Sarkodie

King Sark tried to introduce some businesses using his fame as a catalyst to propel them to success but they failed along the line.

One of such businesses is his clothing line, Sark Collection.

In 2013, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie announced that he had partnered with a fashion entrepreneur to begin the production of fashion items with his name.

He stated that the Sark Collection will consist of joggers, Big Tees, sneakers, and other fashion accessories like belts that had his tag ‘Sark’ boldly written on them.

The products were launched and the rapper wore a few in his music videos but the business died off suddenly as if it never existed.

2. Aphrodisiac Night Club by Confidence Haugen

It was the hottest nightclub in the capital of Ghana where you are likely to catch your favorite celebrity hangout until 2015 when it fizzled out like gas from a drink.

Media personality Confidence Haugen owned the vibrant party spot located in the heart of Dzorwulu in Accra.

She sadly announced the closure of the business and just like that it disappeared from sight and from the mind.

3. Micci Belino

Musician turned radio personality Belinda aka Mzbel got hopes high when she mentioned on the red carpet of the 2011 VGMA that she was styled by her fashion house called ‘Micci Belino’.

She worked her magic and brought her idea into reality in 2013 when she launched a shop with the name at Sakaman.

As it stands, no one knows what has become of the shop and the brand.

Inasmuch as these celebrities could not keep their businesses running for long, there are some Ghanaian celebrities who have successfully started a business and kept it operating till date.
