The showbiz industry has been thrown into mourning following the shocking news of the death of DJ Rab Bakari.

Rab Bakari, a veteran DJ and music executive, shockingly died on Sunday, 6th March, after drowning.

News of his death filtered out Sunday with Reggie Rockstone, Sarkodie and others reacting.

According to reports, Bakari was in the Western Region for some chilling when his unfortunate death occurred.

Prior to his passing, he had shared a photo of himself under a coconut tree with a sign ‘the Beach’ on it.

“6th March* I would rather be on ‘The Beach’ this Independence [from the goddam #British monarchy] Day. … 🌚 … 💥 …🤛🏾 #Ghana (Yessir! I’m here!),” his post read, in part.

That trip to the beach ended up being his last.

Rab Bakari was a hiplife pioneer who worked together with Reggie Rockstone to make the sound ubiquitous with Ghanaian music.

Bakari has also contributed to several platforms such as Okay Africa and Africology and worked for Universal Music Group (USA) for 10+ years in the past.
