Netflix Snubs Gh Local Champions in New Series About Rich Young Africans Featuring Annie Idibia and Some Unknowns

A new Netflix Original series, ‘Young, Famous and African’, has ignored Ghanaian celebrities in its initial cast.

Seven young, famous and rich African celebrities were chosen for the show, and not one Ghanaian made the list.

According to reports, the chosen ones are some of Africa’s richest young people.

None of them come from Ghana, apparently.

The cast list for the show so far includes Nigerian actress and wife of singer 2Face, Annie Idibia and Tanzanian mega star Diamond Platnumz.

Others are Nigerian stylist Swanky Jerry, South African actor Khanyi Mbau and South African rapper Nadi Nakai.

The rest of the lead cast is completed by N*ked DJ and Zari the Boss lady.

The new show is set in the vein of The Kardashians or the Real Housewives and premieres Friday, March 18th 2022.

As its the first season, we might see some of our stars in later seasons but for the first season, it’s a big disappointment that none of them made the cut.

It’s not like the squad is also made up of so many huge and important names that you understand their omission – frankly some of those making appearances are nobodies!

It seems Netflix does not have a lot of respect for our local champions down here.
