Ghanaian celebrity, Deloris Frimpong Manso, has mastered the art of selling her mackerel brand to Ghanaians through her television appearances.

Fellow actor, politician, and farmer, John Dumelo joined the long list of Ghanaian celebrities who own food brands.

Apart from these two hardworking celebrities, several known Ghanaian brands are owned by Ghanaian celebrities.

The above-listed names are not the first Ghanaian celebrities to venture into food brands. A lot have already started that business.

In this editorial, we will discuss 9 Ghanaian food brands that are either already on the market or will be available to Ghanaians soon.

1. Rockz Waakye

Rockz Waakye has been run by the Hip-life pioneer and his wife, Zilla Limann, for many years. The food brand attracts hundreds of customers every day and is one of Ghana’s most popular waakye brands.

2. Delay Mackerel

Delay is one of the few celebrities in Ghana who has ventured into the food processing business. She is the creator and CEO of Delay Mackerel, Sardines, and Spaghetti.

3. Tic Tac (Gennex Pizza)

Tic Tac is the hip-life legend who owns it (who is now known as Tic). Gennex has offices in both Kumasi and Accra.

4. Tracy Sarkcess (Sobolo)

Sarkodie’s wife, Tracy is also the founder and CEO of Pisces Ideas, the maker of the popular Preyman Sobolo drink.

5. John Dumelo (Melo Foods)

Politician, actor, and farmer; John Dumelo is the most recent addition to this list. He announced his ginger brand on Instagram, writing, “Adding value to ginger.” Straight from the farm. There are no preservatives.”

6. Shatta Michy (Chopius Foods)

Michy started a food business in Kumasi after splitting up with Shatta Wale. Chopius Foods serves jollof, braised rice, yam fries, and a variety of delicious side dishes. It is based on delivery.

7. Akuapem Poloo (Sexy Poloo Pure Honey)

The contentious socialite is the brains behind the well-known honey brand Sexy Poloo Pure Honey. She does all of her deliveries in Accra by herself.

8. Stacey Osekere (Griddle Kitchen)

Stacey is the wife of Ghanaian rapper, Edem. They run griddle kitchen, an event catering outfit that provides dine-in, curbside pickup and delivery services.

9. Bismark the Joke (Bissy Bisap)

His brand may not be controversial or loud in the public eye, but comedian Bismark the Joke is making good use of it. He launched Bissy Bisap, a sobolo brand.
