Residents of Wonder World estates in Accra have reportedly expressed fear over two large tigers Freedom Jacob Caesar owns as pets.
According to reports, the tigers have allegedly attacked two residents – sparking fear and panic in the community.
A Daily Guide report details the concerns of residents who spoke to the newspaper.4
According to the paper, the famous Ghanaian richman owns two exotic tigers at an apartment in the Wonder World Estates estates near the British High Commission.
Residents say the tigers are often let loose in an apartment owned by Caesar where they emanate a foul stench that travels far and wide.
“Those animals are held inside an apartment where there is no access to proper fresh air. As soon as the door is open, you sniff a strong unpleasant smell emanating from them,” one resident said.
Another resident also said, “They are opened early in the morning and then sent inside around 10am. They pee and poo on the floor. They also make noise which disturbs our sleep.”
“There are no tranquilisers nor any proper training. In the event of any unfortunate incident, no one knows what would happen to us,” lamented another.
Reports say two residents had scary experiences in which they were confronted by the tigers.
One managed to run for his life, but a second resident sustained injuries, according to the Daily Guide.
“It doesn’t make any sense to have wild animals, tigers for the matter, in an estate in the heart of the city where there is just less than a meter between the houses and also without any proper training and care [for them],” some residents complained.
A report has been made to the Ghana Wildlife Society but their officials came around and were spotted in friendly chats with Freedom.
You know what that means – this has been dubbed a foolish case and nothing will ever come out of those reports!
