The credulity of certain religious people can be shameful and even worrying.
A social media user, Naa Adoley Jeffanet, has gotten the Ghanaian social media landscape talking after she claimed that her dead mother’s ghost sent her 14,000 GHS via momo–following a prayer session with Alpa Hour.
The ridiculous nature of the claim has led to popular Ghanaian atheist, lawyer and GhanaCelebrities.Com’s Founding Editor-Chris-Vincent Agyapong to pen down a sarcastic post on Facebook, asking why his dead father and grandmother have not surprised him with some momo.

Alpa Hour is made up of a group of young Ghanaians called Alpharians–who wake up at 12 midnight to pray to God, led by Pastor Elvis Agyemang on Facebook Live. This prayer session has attracted huge social media user attendance–with over 30,000 live watchers at a time in recent days
Chris-Vincent in a Facebook post wrote:
“Woman Says Her Dead Mother Sent Her 14,000 GHS via Momo After She Prayed With Alpha Hour
Credulity should be a civil wrong or a crime: these are the people who believe in Alpha hour and a God!
She says because she prayed with Alpha hour, her dead mother sent her 14,000 GHS via momo. The God of Alpha Hour is really powerful.
I didn’t know at the cemetery or heaven, they have mobile money too.
This is clear evidence of God’s miracle or evidence in support of the claim that God exists. I mean this is the evidence people present or believe.
And someone like me, with all my thinking faculties in place, is also supposed to accept and believe.
Now, I am upset with my dead father and grandmother for not sending me momo—despite all the hustling. Evil ancestors!
