Former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress, Allotey Jacobs, says Vice President Bawumia is the only leader equipped to take Ghana into a new era of prosperity.
Jacobs, speaking on Peace Fm’s Kokrokoo, said Bawumia is the one who can take over the mantle from President Akufo-Addo and make the NPP win the next election.
According to him, Bawumia can bring Ghana out of the darkness into light.
“In spite of these difficulties that we are facing, one person who can continue with the work of the current government led by Nana Akufo-Addo is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia”. He said.
“If you are a political analyst or an old fox in the system, just sit down quietly, meditate as to who should be our leader in 2024 . . . sit down, do a critical analysis and note that the brains that can change the machines of this country to make this country progressive is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia…” he added.
His comments come after the NPP recently held their National Delegates Congress to elect executives to lead the party into the 2024 elections.
The election saw some shocks as some new faces unseated incumbents – Stephen Ntim heads the party as National Chairman, Justin Frimpong Kodua took John Boadu’s seat to become the General Secretary and Henry Nana Boakye (Nana B) is now the National Organizer.
The NPP would be attempting to ‘break the 8’, as they call it – try to end the cycle since 1992 where a party loses power after 8 years in office.
According to Jacobs, Bawumia is best equipped to lead that charge.
