Veteran talk show host Wendy Williams has been exposed to embarrassment after her claim of being married turned out to be a lie.
Williams reportedly told Hollywood Unlocked founder Jason Lee that she’s married, to a police officer no less!
Lee relayed the information Wendy told him thus: “She says, ‘I’m married.’ I’m like, ‘What?’ She’s like, ‘I got married,’” the podcast host recalled of their back-and-forth.
“I’m like, ‘You got married when?’ And she’s like, ‘I got married last week.’”
However, Wendy Williams’ representatives quickly came out to clarify the news after it went viral like wildfire.
A snappy statement released by her reps denied Wendy being married, although she is indeed seeing someone.
“That’s inaccurate,” her rep told Page Six exclusively.
“She is excited about a new relationship and probably got carried away in conversation.”
Asked if she was truly dating a police officer as Lee said, the rep also refused to confirm or deny.
“Wendy doesn’t wish to disclose details at the moment.” they said.
Williams Williams may have lied about being married, but she is no stranger to embellishing details of her love life.
In 2019, news came out that she’s dating another cop – which also turned out to be inaccurate.

“It’s flattering to hear, but it’s not the case. I’m in a relationship. I just worked security for her for a couple of weeks after she filed for divorce [from Kevin Hunter].” the officer later clarified.
