After confirming the vice president’s claims, Mr. Samuel Kwasi Ankamah further described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as a unifier.

He claims that the veep does not discriminate on religious grounds, saying that was his way of life.

Mr. Ankamah further expressed disappointment in people who made a mockery of the veep’s disclosure last week.

Dr. Bawumia made the revelation while speaking at the launch of the 175th-anniversary celebrations of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG).

The vice-president emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence among Ghana’s many religions.

“We live in a society where a mother and some children could be Christians and a father and some children could be Muslims. As a young boy at Sakasaka primary school in Tamale, I was born to a Methodist mother (then Susana Mariama) and a Muslim father,” Bawumia said.

According to Mr. S. K. Ankamah, Bawumia’s quest for religious tolerance is not new to him because he always saw those traits in him.

“I wish to add that he somebody who is a unifier in the sense that he does not discriminate among religions. I would say because he is a Muslim he would not join Christians in worship. I remember when our mother died, he came for the funeral on a Saturday. I come from Nsuta Kyebi and the Church Service was held at Nsuta…he came for the funeral after that he left. I thought that was all until Sunday while we were at home preparing for Church he had already arrived with his wife and was at the Church premises. He joined us in the services”, he added.
