Police Declare Teenage Girls Aged 13-16 Wanted In Murder of Ghanaian NYC Taxi Driver – Two Suspects Charged

New York City Police have declared three teenage girls aged between 13–16 years old wanted in connection with the murder of a Ghanaian taxi driver in New York, Kutin Gyimah.

Gyimah was beaten to death in the early hours of Saturday, August 13th 2022 by five passengers in Far Rockaway after they refused to pay their fare and then tried to rob him.

Gyimah chased them for his money, which led to them assaulting him and running off.

He hit his head during the assault and suffered a brain injury which later led to his death.

CCTV footage of the attack surfaced in recent days, after which two of the suspects involved turned themselves in.

Austin Amos, 20 years old from Queens, turned himself in Wednesday night accompanied by his mother.

Another suspect, 20-year-old Nicholas Porter, also turned himself in.

The three teenage girls police believe were involved in the attack – aged 13, 15 and 16 – are still at large.

Amos has been charged with manslaughter, gang assault and theft. He also has six prior arrests, including for robbery, disorderly conduct, criminal contempt and s*xual harassment.

He reportedly delivered the fatal blow to Gyimah.

Porter, meanwhile, faces gang assault and theft charges.

“My husband was a good man, he was everything we had. He was our Children’s hero. His life has been cut short just like that…” a heartbroken Mrs Gyimah said during an interview.

“I don’t know what to do now. I lost. I lost. He was a good, kind man. He was my support. I’m lost now. The hero of my children,”

The 52-year-old Gyimah leaves behind his wife and four children – aged 8, 7, 5 and 3.

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe page set up for the family has raised $109,600 so far.
