Popular Nigerian musician, Ice Prince has been arrested by the Lagos state police command for reportedly abducting and assaulting a police officer.
A report seen on social media suggested that a police officer stopped Ice Prince for drive g without a license plate in the early hours of Friday, September 2 but the checks turn violent.
According to the reports confirmed by spokesperson of Lagos state police command SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Ice Prince initially agreed to be taken to the station but abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the lagoon.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the report saying the Oleku hitmaker would be arraigned before a court today.
Hundeyin wrote on Twitter, “at about 3a.m @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.
“He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
