Copyright Infringement: Asa Sues Joeboy For $300M

Nigerian songstress, Bukola Elemide known by her stage name Asa sues Joseph Akinfenwa (Joeboy) for copyright infringement.

According to Lawyers of Asa, Joeboy’s new release, Contour has some elements believed to be taken from Asa’ earlier composition. The lawyers alleged that, part of their client’s composition was used by Joe in his new song without permission.

They however asked Joe to delete Contour from all music platforms and issue an apology within 24hours to that effect.

They have also demanded $300M compensation coupled with 60% publishing split on the song be given to Asa.

Tempoe, named Alageu Michael at birth is the producer of Joeboy’s Contour same as mentioned by Asa as the producer of the composition allegedly copied.

Prior to this, Bukola was sued by her former Producer, Tempoe for copyright infringement and had her song ” Love Me Or Give Me Red Wine and others removed from all streaming platforms.

A payback time it is for Asa to take her own pound of flesh of Tempoe.

The letter was dated 30th of September and today is 5th of October meaning it’s more than 24 hours already.

Meanwhile, Joeboy ignored the letter and dares Asa to take a step further.
