A man in York has been taken into police custody after attempting to hit King Charles III and the Queen Consort with eggs in York.

The eggs were thrown at the King and the Queen Consort during a visit to York, where he was welcomed by city leaders.

The eggs missed the King and Queen Consort, and the pair were ushered away.

Following the disgraceful act, a man was detained by police, as King Charles and the Queen Consort walked away graciously.

The royal couple has since been trending across social platforms, as many have been trolling the royal couple.
