Ghanaian actor, politician and farmer, John Dumelo, has called for the rest of the Black Star’s World Cup budget to be used to provide desks for students in schools who sit on floors!
Dumelo jumped on social media the morning of Saturday, December 3rd 2022 to make the call, in the wake of the Black Stars’ elimination from the Fifa World Cup.
Ghana lost 2-0 to Uruguay in a revenge mission gone wrong. The loss, coupled with South Korea beating Portgual, eliminated both Ghana and Uruguay.

Hence, even though Ghana failed to get revenge, we still got to see Suarez crying in pain, which would have to suffice for now.
Before the tournament, the government budgeted for the team’s Group Stage appearance with an extra budget to be added should they make the next round.
However, with Ghana’s elimination, Dumelo is calling for that extra money to be put to good use rather than being squandered by the authorities.
“The money supposed to be spent if we had qualified to the next round, can we use it to buy desks for students who still sit on the floor to learn?” Dumelo sent out a plea on his Facebook page.
