A Nigerian social media user has trolled Ghanaians over our music industry, claiming Rema on his own is bigger than our four biggest stars.
The Nigerian said comparing YouTube streams, Rema in his four years music career has more streams than Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and King Promise combined!
Doing the math, the netizen claimed Rema has 843m streams on YouTube whilst the four Ghanaian musicians together have 695m streams.
Whilst Nigerians are having a field day with the fact, Ghanaians are pointing out that the population disparity between the two countries makes it impractical to make such comparisons.
Ghana has a population of just over 30 million whilst Nigeria is over 200 million – it’s obvious which artistes are going to have larger streams!
