Bawumia Will Make A Great President – NPP’s Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah, says Vice President Dr Bawumia would make a good President when given the nod to lead the NPP.

Speaking on Accra-based Asempa Fm, Dr Assibey-Yeboah said he was initially not supportive of Bawumia’s choice as the NPP running mate for the 2008 elections but he has proven himself over the years and won his support.

He added that Bawumia’s mastery of economic issues coupled with his zeal and hard work make him the ideal successor to President Akufo-Addo.

He said “When you look at the three Northern regions NPP has 16 seats and NDC has 15 and that means he has done his bit to ensure that. With the kind of CV Bawumia boasts, I think he can be a good President if he is given the nod.”

Dr Assibey-Yeboah added that the contributions of Dr Bawumia to the NPP’s successes “cannot be discounted”.

Vice President Bawumia is expected to throw his hat into the NPP flagbearer race sometime soon.

The keenly contested race would see the Veep taking on former Trade Minister, Alan Kyeremanten, Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, and other top party officials.

Political analysts name Bawumia as the presumptive frontrunner with Alan Kyeremanten expected to be his closest challenger.
