Afia Schwarzenegger‘s dreams have finally come true as the Accra High Court has agreed to lift her jail sentence.
Schwarzenegger has been fined Ghc 60,000 – the same amount as her fellow contemnors – after furiously pleading with the court to rescind her jail term.
The comedienne was back in court today in her contempt of court case.

Schwarzenegger was initially sentenced to a 10-day jail term for refusing to turn up in court after Chairman Wontumi sued her for contempt.
Afia went into hiding to escape the sentence and worked back channels to get the warrant against her lifted.
After that, she came to plead with her health as an excuse that she cannot serve a jail term.
The judge apparently agrees – and has now lifted the sentence against her and transformed it into a fine.

Currently, Afia is being held by the High Court until she raises the amount.
