Famous businessman Abeiku Aggrey Santana claims that Archbishop Charles Agyin Asare, the founder of Perez Chapel International, deserves praise for bringing attention to the Nogokpo community.
He claimed that by helping the leaders and residents improve their self-image and branding, the clergyman rendered a service to them.
People had previously been deceived and held a particular perception about the town of Nogokpo, therefore the residents used the bishop Charles Agyin Asare’s remark to dispel that misconception and rebrand the community, he claimed.
Following one of his church’s sermons in which the founder claimed that Nogokpo was the “demonic headquarters” of the Volta Regio, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare received criticism from a segment of the general public.
Bishop did not demean the Voltarians, however, the spin and twist of his comments triggered the leaders of Nogokpo to take advantage of that to grant interviews and press conferences which helped them get noticed.
“In branding and image building, foreign nationals travel to Benin and other nations to witness the Vodoo festival, so the leaders of Nogokpo took advantage of the remarks of the Archbishop to market their destination. it helped them to market the community.
